Sleep

Everyone makes jokes that when you have a baby, you don’t sleep… well, that is true. Mason has stopped napping, we think because he is excited to see us and wants to be social. Well, that is a problem cause then he is cranky 1/2 the day, and even though you can see that he is tired, he is fighting it to stay awake. So while we haven’t read the books yet on sleeping, we have started putting him to bed early.

Last night we put him down at 9:30pm and he slept. This evening, we put him down around 8:30 or so. He cried for about 47 minutes before he finally fell asleep. There was nothing wrong with him, he was fed and dry and all that, but he wasn’t ready to sleep.

Although he will be on a road trip with mom for a week and that will throw the whole thing off wack, having time to get shit done while he sleeps is nice and having him in a better mood cause he sleeps is great.

  1. Mason’s more grown-up than I was as a baby. I stopped napping when I was 2.

If he continues to do things in a quarter of the time it took me to do them, he’ll start to read at age 1.25, he’ll move to Naperville at age 3, and he’ll graduate from college at age 5.5.

But don’t worry, I started nap again when I was 18, so he might pick that up again when he’s 4.5!

  2. We are hoping to get him to START napping again! He got to as low as a couple nights with 6-7 hours of sleep and virtually no nap time, but I have read that if it is less than 30 min, it is not a nap.

So we are hoping to start him on napping again. Before he was doing it on his own.

And I hope he doesn’t graduate college at 5.5, that will be crazy!
