“Baby Hit Head”

At some point one of the kids bumped their head. At another point in time Mason bumped Norah on the head and got a timeout.

Now Norah will be playing with a baby doll and she’ll deliberately nail the baby’s head into the wall, cabinet, bed frame whatever and then say in a very concerned voice “oh baby hit head!”

Usually this ends in a little cuddling on Norah’s part but occasionally the baby gets a timeout.

Ducks

Norah will tell you what sounds animals make. Cows moo. Birds tweet. Bunnies hop. (?)

But when she talks about ducks she says quack quack quack but its always accompanied by her make her hands into little duck bills.

Also pigs squeal, more like a velociraptor. Rarely is it oink.

Norah & Her Time Out

Kids upstairs, dad downstairs.

Mason: DAD! Norah is playing in cosby (the cat’s) water!
Dad: NORAH! Are you playing in Cosby’s water?
Norah: YES!
Dad: Norah, do you want a time out?
Norah: YES!
Dad: Ok, go sit on the stairs and take a time out!
Norah: OK DAD!

She seemed pretty happy with the idea. Sounds good to me I guess!

Norah on city life, dad on the phone

Norah has one of those first words books. I was sitting on the couch and she went over and got the book and walked up to me saying ‘book book book’ and it was clear she wanted to sit on my lap. I picked up my iPhone and she immediately glared at me and in a more direct tone said ‘NO! Book! Book!’. I was just moving it out of the way!

So we went through the book and she was able to identify everything in the book aside from the picture of the house, which is a typical house one would find the suburb. Sorry, our house doesn’t look like that.

norah talking…

in the last couple weeks, norah’s speech has come over the peak and now you can have mini conversations with her, which are awesome. She was talking a little before and could clearly understand you, but it has just exploded lately and you can have back and forths without issue.

Norah is crawling

While there have been a few claimed sightings in the last week or 2, we feel safe saying as of today, Norah is officially crawling. She will crawl a few feet, sit back up, play with some toy, then go crawl some more. It is almost time to put the gates back up. We already had to lower her bed and she was pulling up on it.

napping together

Mason and Norah share a room where we have 2 cribs next to each other. Usually they talk to each other for a while before the fall asleep. Today they were up talking per usual and after a while we went up there to check on them, tell them to be quiet and tuck them back in. We found Mason had climbed into Norah’s crib and was trying to get her to stop crying. Funny stuff.

Norah’s First Words

While we are not 100% in agreement, it would seem that Da-Da (daddy) was norah’s first word, and that has been a few weeks now. She also says something that sounds like Ma-Ma. Obviously these words come out in reference to one of entering the room, playing with her, etc. She also says Uh-oh, which is also quite funny.
